Problem: Students on the go need a responsive web app that supports learning goals. Users are often juggling studies with a job, family, or other responsibilities. Their community needs a tool for sharing resources and collaborating on course learning.
Solution: With Academy, students now have an online resource that helps easily balance learning and collaboration with life’s other needs. Users can share valuable materials and engage with others in their field. They’ll discuss topics, trade insights, receive feedback and collaborate on projects, wherever and whenever they choose.
Goals & Design Processes
Based on an ideal user persona, primary functions were sketched, and user flows were mapped.
Wireframes increased in fidelity from low-fi sketches to full-detail mockups.
The main focus was to design efficient paths toward user goals.
Deliverables
As sole UI Designer for this project, my responsibilities included the mood board and style guide, all logos, typography, colors, icons, animations and wireframes.

Learnings
Academy is an online academic community designed to meet user needs.
Students have the ability to stay connected, share resources and collaborate with like-minded academics, whenever and wherever convenient.
During this process I learned to pay close attention to detail, specifically in elemental spacing, imagery, and color schemes.
UI Design choices inform the user experience. Therefore, I took the time to create assets and elements that help users feel at ease, welcomed, and focused on achieving their goals.
Learning to design responsive layouts made the handoff and development process more efficient, and led to cleaner results.
